Sir,
I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge
the receipt of your letter of the 29th October (92672/32)
relative to the appointment of Mr. J.G. Charlton, Engineer
Surveyor, Cardiff, as an Engineer Surveyor under the
Government of Hong Kong, and to state, for the information
of Secretary Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, that the Board
agree to release him from their service as from the
11th November, 1932, inclusive, the date on which he will
be placed on the pensionable establishment of the Hong Kong
Government.
I am also to state that the Board have been informed
by the Treasury that, subject to the retirement of
Mr. Charlton at any time from the service of the Hong Kong
Government under conditions entitling him to the
superannuation benefits prescribed by the appropriate
